Young United Mothers

Young United Mothers is a non-profit organization that exists to empower and inspire young mothers to live a more sustainable life. Their programs focus on low-income mothers as well as mothers who are transitioning in and out of the prison system.

The Challenge

They were looking to improve their visual identity because the previous logo looked too generic and busy. They were looking for something more modern and stylish to fit the younger audience but it still needed to look professional for donors. They also needed a new tagline to go with the logo as part of their messaging. The finalized solution needed to translate well to business cards and other forms of marketing collateral as well.

Target Audience: Young mothers looking to live a more sustainable life as well as donors.

The Solution

The project involved taking their current logo and improving on it to make it cleaner and more modern. This would also allow it to translate well to promotional products. We were aiming for something youthful and empowering and it also needed to convey the nurturing relationship between mother and child. The wordmark uses custom lettering and it is highly legible at smaller sizes. The new tagline that we decided on was “Empowering Mothers. Inspiring Change.”

The new visual identity for Young United Mothers is cleaner, more youthful and modern. It conveys the warm relationship between mother and child. It is bold youthful and empowering.
