brand archetypes

What are Brand Archetypes?

The concept of 12 Archetypes came from Carl Jung’s theory of human psyche in which he identified 12 archetypes that form the range of human personalities. They are also sometimes referred to as personality archetypes. In branding, we apply human psychology to create brands that resonate and connect with people on emotional levels. So by aligning your brand with at least 1 archetype, you can appeal to the inner drivers and desires that people have and connect with customers at a much deeper level.

People are more likely to remember and connect with characters who have distinct personality traits. Therefore the same concept can be applied to brand building. Every great brand would fall into one or more of the 12 brand archetypes.

By understanding these 12 archetypes, you can gain a better understanding of human behavior and motivations. This way you can create a brand that people love, admire, and remember. Below we will talk about the 12 brand archetypes which can be grouped into 4 categories. Where does your brand fit in the hearts and lives of people? What drives your company? What personality archetype makes your brand attractive?
