A Book of Scripture for Finding God's Plan
Journey To Your Calling: The Path to Receive the Desires of Your Heart by Janice Hatcher Liggins is a book about finding God’s plan for your life. It is written for men and women who truly want to realize their life calling.
The Challenge
The author shows how she finds her calling in life and how the Lord helped her overcome obstacles that she encountered along the way. The cover design and author website needed to reflect that journey.
We needed to launch in time for the holidays but in order to begin building anticipation, the cover needed to be finalized.The goal of the project was to launch the book more effectively with an eye-catching cover and a superb online presence. The author needed a cover that brings the message behind the book to life. Web design and social media support was also needed to promote the the message behind it in a way that builds awareness, engagement and anticipation before and after the final release date.
The Solution
The design direction for the cover was intended to be all natural and show the beauty of nature as a reflection of life. The cover captures the season of Autumn because of the warm colors and how it is associated with transitions that can also be applied to life. Life is full of seasons that can be high and low, warm or cold. The cover strongly conveys that and the woman being depicted is a mysterious silhouette emerging from a dark forest and heading towards the brighter horizon on a windy Autumn sunrise. This represents the spiritual journey of life.
Social media helped us build anticipation and we began collecting pre-orders. The book was promoted for 5-8 months primarily on Facebook and Instagram but Twitter and Pinterest was also used.
Some of the inspirational quotes were taken from the book and used to create effective visual content. These were quotes on a variety of themes such as love, spirituality, life and heaven. The quotes were shared in FB groups and helped us build engagement through social media. They also allowed us grow the Instagram page to have a larger audience to promote to.
The Journey To Your Calling chronicles the seven major phases of spiritual growth. The book cover captures the emotion behind it as well as the underlying themes of spirituality, transitions and overcoming hard times. It shows the beauty of life that is expressed through nature. It is a truly inspirational work of art.
